Don’t Dilly Dally “Delilah!” Scarlett screeched waving her hands in the air in dismay. The chocolate lab, smiled at her mischievously with Scarlett’s chosen shirt hanging out of her mouth. She glared at her cute pet, as she tried to levitate the dog closer to her. Delilah must have felt the pull because she started squirming excessively; making it hard for Scarlett to concentrate. After a few seconds, Scarlett broke her glare which the dog took has a hint to run. Which is what she did. “Delilah!” Scarlett jumped over a pile of dirty clothes as she tried to grab onto her dog. As soon as she got into the hall the demon dog was gone. Scarlett squinted and quietly looked around the hallway. Only her head was sticking out of her bedroom, out of fear that her roommate might wake up and only see her in pants and a black bra. Then again she already had sex with her roommate twice, so he had seen her in less than a bra and pants. But now they were trying this whole new roommate/friends thing. And the whole friend thing might be ruined by him seeing her in bra, a lacey black bra.
“Delilah,” Scarlett whispered into the hallway. Biting her lower lip, she crept into the hall and peered down the stairs. No sign of the demon dog. Dang! Suddenly, she heard the soft steps of Delilah running from the bathroom to her roommate’s room. No! Scarlett darted towards the dog completely missing her. The woman watched, in horror, as the dog ran into Ian’s room. The quietness of the house reached Scarlett’s ears. He was out getting food and on his weekly search for his lost love. A minute or two in his room trying to get her shirt back wouldn’t matter much. He would be out for a while and there was no way he would catch her in a lacey bra. Right? Thinking all that through, Scarlett ran into Ian’s room. She saw the demon dog, laying on Ian’s bed all cozy like. Her shirt right underneath her. Scarlett jumped on top of the dog and yanked the shirt out from underneath year in one move. Delilah licked her owner’s face before squirming away.
Scarlett giggled before lying on her back on Ian’s bed. She sighed as she heard the dog leave the room and go downstairs. Probably to get a drink of water. Suddenly there was a sound of the garage door closing echoed around the house. Oh no! Scarlett quickly scrambled out of the bed and hurriedly pulled the t-shirt on. She stopped at the door frame when she saw her roommate’s confused face. Scarlett just then realized that her shirt was on backwards. And it was a tad see-through. Scarlett completely forgot that she wore tank tops with this shirt. Awkwardly leaning against the door frame, Scarlett gave him a strained smile, “Hey!”

Ian walked down the street, back towards his house. He had found a nice cart where they were selling baked goods. It was almost a little miracle. So to celebrate this small miracle, he bartered for some of the goods and headed home right away. It was his goal to go out and look for his “lost love” as Scarlett called her. But he took this as a sign saying that he should have a best friend day with Scarlett. He had never really thanked her for taking him in and helping him through this crazy search. So maybe today they could just stay home, watch movies, and just hang out. And not have sex. It only happened twice but there were close encounters. It is hard on the hormones to have two attractive people in the same room together and not have something happen, especially when their hormones are going all crazy like. But Ian was determined to have this be a strictly friend hang out type of thing. That was if Scarlett wanted to, it was up to her really. Ian searched his pockets and realized he had forgotten his house keys. Sighing, he opened the garage door and entered the house that way. OF course he waited until the door was all the way down before walking completely into the house. Wouldn’t want someone sneaking up behind him to get into the house. He walked into the house and made his way into the kitchen, carefully setting down the cupcakes and cookies he managed to get today. Yea there were necessities, but Scarlet always had the resources to get those. He heard a loud sound coming from upstairs, and froze in his place. He drew in a slow breath and grabbed his pocket knife. Even though he was relatively sure that it was Scarlett chasing the dog, Ian still needed to take precautions. He walked towards the stairs and nearly jumped out of his skin when he saw the dog running down the stairs like a maniac. Realizing that it really was just Delilah and Scarlet, Ian pocketed the knife and continued upstairs. “What in the he---” Ian’s question was cut off when he got to the top of the stairs. Confusion was all over his face as she stared at his roommate. He tried not to stare at the black bra that stood out from under her shirt. He began looking at the ceilings and the walls. Anything to avoid staring at the obvious. “Hey,” he stated, looking at the wall next to Scarlett. “I was just wondering if you wanted to have a movie day?” The question was innocent and meaningless but it came out completely awkward. Again, hormones began to make the whole friendship thing harder than normal. “You know what? I’ll just meet you downstairs.” Ian gave her a small wave and headed down the stairs to go munch on a cookie. ~:~

Don’t Dilly Dally Scarlett felt like a deer looking at headlights, completely frozen and scared. She watched her roommate as his eyes scanned everything in the room. Avoiding the obvious. “Yea that would be great,” she muttered, a cold breeze reminding her just how exposed she was. Scarlett tried not to visibly tense up as she waited for her roommate to go back downstairs. Once he was out of sight, Scarlet released the breath she had unknowingly held. Running to her room, Scarlet yanked open her closet door and grabbed a black tank top. She put the tank top on, adjusted it, and put her other shirt back on. The right way this time. She looked in her life size mirror and quickly adjusted her hair around her face. The curls framing her face perfectly. Even though she was just having a movie day with Ian, Scarlett had this urge to look nice. Call it hormones; call it being neurotic, either way she was determined to look somewhat nice. After some more adjusting, Scarlett walked out of her room.
Delilah came running past her, almost knocking her down. That dog just wanted to cause problems today. She glared at her pet before running downstairs to go find Ian. The smell hit her nose the moment she got to the first floor. “Oh.my….” Her eyes got wide as she caught sight of the baked goods. Her eyes went straight for the chocolate chip cookies, willing one to move to her. She grabbed it from thin air and took a bit of it. Scarlett had been making lots of money through her dad’s record company and her piano playing, but most of it was spent on the house, her car, and the other necessities. Meaning some things had to be sacrificed. Such as backing goods. So this was like a gift from God getting to eat these cookies and cupcakes. She scarfed down the cookie before running over to her roommate. “Thank you so much! What…how…?” She couldn’t think of how Ian got a hold of these things but she was grateful and wanted to pay him back. But she didn’t know how.
Before she knew it, Scarlett wrapped her arms are her roommate and pulled him close to her. When she realized what she did, her body completely tensed up. Scarlett enjoyed the hug so much but she should not have done that. Both of them promised to not press their friendship boundary. Especially since Ian was in love with another girl and Scarlett…well she gets too emotionally attached. And let’s face it, Scarlett was already attached to Ian more then she should be. With the way the world is and the way their lives are, anything more than friendship would be too complicated and messy. Slowly Scarlett backed up and grabbed another cookie. “Thank you,” she muttered before she started to nervously nibble on her second cookie. She watched Ian nervously, trying to decipher his reaction.

Ian let out a small chuckle at her reaction to the goods. Scarlett seemed like a child sometimes. It was something Ian really admired about her. It was hard to act innocent and childlike in this lifetime. Too many things have happened for such innocence. Even before the outbreak Ian had a rough life. Being brought up in an orphanage straight from birth was a struggle. But Ian did not regret anything from those years. Had it not been for that he would have not met most of those good people, made all those friends, fallen in love. His heart ached a little at the remembrance of Aria. She was his best friend, his only friend at the time. If both of them had not been so stubborn who knows where they would be now. Ian wouldn’t have met that other girl and had left Aria. They could have had a better chance at surviving together. Then again if this was the case he might not have met his new best friend, Scarlett. He was damned if he did and damned if he didn’t. But Ian knew that he could not change the past. So there was no use dwelling on it. He chuckled again when his roommate struggled to find words. “Well I----” his explanation was cut short when Scarlett surprised him with a hug. It was interesting. Not just the situation but the feelings that went along with it. Ian was still in love with Aria, yet he was finding himself extremely attracted to Scarlett. Something was a big hindrance. They both had agreed to be friends, but if Ian were to ever give up on finding Aria, Scarlett would be his first choice. It was terrible to think that way, but that’s how the situation was. Ian knew better than to try anything with the awakened now. Especially since he was the one that keeps harping on the whole friendship thing. Ian felt Scarlet tense up next to him. He tried not to wrap his arms around her to return the hug. It would probably make things more awkward and tense. Ian tried to relax his body as much as he could though. Wouldn’t want to completely hurt Scarlett’s feelings. Ian wasn’t a mean person like that, but he was an impulsive person which often got him into some trouble. When she let go and nibbled on a cookie, Ian let out an inaudible sigh. Thank goodness that was over. Though the silence that followed the awkward hug was uncomfortable. Moment had not passed yet. He had to find something to distract the both of them before they lapsed into a day of silence…or had sex. Either way Ian was relatively sure it would end badly. “I just traded a few things that I had from my childhood, no big deal,” he stated readdressing her earlier questions. “I figured we both deserved something nice for a change.” He grinned at her, trying to put his friend at ease. Though he made a mental note to keep his distance from his friend for a couple hours. Same room was fine, but a few feet were a necessary distance. After all, it’s all fun and games until someone’s pants come off. ~:~
