hey, i just met you, [atrb=style, background-image: url(http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg154/kellyjjohnson255/Backgrounds/1212INVERTEDCOLORS-1.jpg); border: dashed #C000FF 4px; border-radius:50px 50px 25px 25px;][atrb=border,0,true] [atrb=style, border: dashed #c000ff 3px; width: 400px; height: 500px; float: left; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px; padding-bottom: 30px; padding-top: 30px;]
Keisha wandered around her old house restlessly. She was on edge though. Being in the confined space bugged her. Pete and Melanie had gotten back into a normal grove fairly quickly; they were both asleep upstairs in their rooms. Keisha however, wasn’t that lucky. She was rattling the bars of her cage, ever since she died it had gotten worse and worse. Groaning in frustration she threw her fist into the wall, making it rattle from the force of impact. Pulling her hand back and shaking it out, she was almost surprised to find that there wasn’t a dent. Pulling in a deep breath, Keisha darted up the stairs, moving quickly so her younger siblings wouldn’t hear her.
Ducking into her bedroom, she pulled out one of her numerous black tank tops, and her baggier black jeans. She quickly stripped off her PJ’s and shimmied into her clean cloths, moving as quickly and silently as she could, so she wouldn’t wake up Pete or Mel. Finishing up by pulling her hair into a sloppy bun, she moved out of her room, glancing to her right at the closed door. It had been her parents’ room, but her mother was dead and her father was missing. Tearing her eyes from it, she glided down the stairs and out the front door, leaving her black Vans where they had been tossed by the door. The kids wouldn’t be up until later anyway, so she had time to kill as she wandered down the hall to the door to the stairs to the lobby of their penthouse. She dashed down the stairs taking them two at a time and sometimes skipping a flight or two completely.
She maneuvered quickly and quietly through the city, keeping to the back allies so she wouldn’t be seen by anything that could be considered a threat. Now-a-days though that could be considered nearly everyone and everything. So she moved quickly, and the second her feet carried her to the suburbs, she took off as fast as she could to the woods. Keisha hit the tree line at a dead sprint, crashing through the brush and letting her instinct compensate for the uneven ground. She stopped only when she was sure she was deep enough into the trees that no one could have possibly seen or followed her. Only then did she turn and run again launching herself in a dive over a tree and changing into her wolf form in midair.
Her sleek black and white wolf frame was really no bigger than a dog’s. She had no idea, but she was pretty sure she held the record for smallest wolf around. She didn’t care. It made her quick and light on her feet, perfect distraction material. Keisha bounded off into the forest, heading over the same trails she remembered wandering with her friends only a year or so ago. The full moon cast an eerie glare on the bark of the trees in the forest. Keisha ran past them, nearly effortlessly. She thought of her siblings as she ran. They knew every once in a while Keisha would sneak out to the forest to practice her power, but they didn’t approve of her going at night. She knew why too, but the forest was calm and peaceful at night. Though there were some things every now and again that made her defenses shoot sky high. No one knew really what was in the forest anymore, and Keisha personally wasn’t about to wander that far in and find out. Finally, after winding around trees and over bushes and roots, she slowed to a slow a leisurely walk. Around her the forest took on its own cadence, small breezes rustling the leaves and the occasional sound of an animal. She heaved a content sigh and continued walking easily along. Eventually, she stumbled on a clearing. It was the perfect place to practice her skills, and that’s just what she was going to do tonight.

The cold air of the night brought peace to his weary mind and tired body. Alex stumbled to a halt, having been running at full sprint most of the day to cover what had been left of the distance back towards the city. Back towards what was left of his home. He found a clear spot and the shaggy, muscular grey wolf shifted into a handsome gentleman who looked to be in his early 30’s. Alex sat down, his mind racing with thoughts. He settled in and tried to calm himself, going into his 4th meditation ritual for the day.
It was frustrating to him. The faster he moved and the more he tired himself out, the more often he needed to halt completely and focus on calming his mind, lest he fall into total insanity. He held back a twisted giggle at the thought, trying ever harder to calm himself. Insanity. It would actually be a wonderful change of pace. No real sense of self. Just letting the mind race and let whatever happens happen. He sometimes considered it really. To just let go of everything and stop trying to fight. Perhaps it would be less painful then constantly having to battle with himself. He knew he couldn’t though. He had learned so much in his short life, and he had something he had to do.
In any other circumstance it was a simple wish really. He just wanted to find her. It had been so long there was so little left to go on. A name, and the haunting image of her piercing blue eyes. They seemed so dangerous, and at the same time so welcoming. Those eyes, or the memory he had of them, is what kept him going through the hundreds of miles he had travelled to get here. Ever since the change had occurred, since he had gained immense physical strength and the ability to take the form of his favorite animal, he knew he had to see if she was alright.
He let out a deep sigh and opened his eyes, his mind once again well enough under his control and his body rejuvenated from the short break. He stretched his legs and made sure his blade and garments were secure before shifting back to his streamlined wolf form and dashing off through the trees, the sounds of the forest soothing him as he ran. In time, he could smell industry smoke stacks in the distance. His face twitched and formed a toothy grin as he got close, but a different sent came him screeching to a halt. Another wolf? He sniffed again. Yes definitely a wolf. Female by the aroma. She was close, but he didn’t dare approach. Instead he sat down, threw back his head, and let the haunting melody the wolf is so well known for fill the air, his howl being heard far and wide.

hey, i just met you, [atrb=style, background-image: url(http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg154/kellyjjohnson255/Backgrounds/1212INVERTEDCOLORS-1.jpg); border: dashed #C000FF 4px; border-radius:50px 50px 25px 25px;][atrb=border,0,true] [atrb=style, border: dashed #c000ff 3px; width: 400px; height: 500px; float: left; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px; padding-bottom: 30px; padding-top: 30px;]
The clearing Keisha had found would be a perfect spot to practice her transformation on the fly. She shifted back into her human form, without much of a hassle. This pleased her. She usually had to take a few moments to gather her thoughts before she changed. The more she practiced though the easier it got for her. The trick seemed to be clearing her mind and then thinking she was human again, or thinking she was a wolf. Keisha still didn’t understand why she turned when she was angry though. None of it really made sense at all to her. Instead, she let out a breath, closed her eyes and thought about being a wolf and the one that seemed to burn deep inside her. In the split second, she seemed to shed her human skin and turn into her tiny husky looking wolf frame. She stood proudly for a moment, and then decided what to practice on. Keisha need to learn how to transform in a second, and while she was doing something else. It would be that much easier to throw off her opponents if she ever got into trouble. It certainly wasn’t like she could say “oh wait, let me take a minute to shift into the form of a wolf…” Yeah that just wasn’t going to fly well.
As Keisha was preparing to practice she heard a howl. She knew the eerie sound well, as it escaped from her own mouth a few times since she had turned. It was a song of pain and longing, and a sound of triumph and strength all in one. She wasn’t sure which part of her it was, but suddenly she wanted to be with others like her, or even just other wolves, so she could howl that song with anyone else. She was convinced it was the wolf part of her that was thinking about that, that wanted that so desperately. Keisha herself didn’t want that or need that. She was fine with being on her own. She liked being on her own. This feeling that the wolf gave her was new, very new. But she knew why it was too. Wolves were pack animals, and the wolf inside her wanted a pack too. It accepted Pete and Melanie as something to the equivalent as pups, but the wolf wanted more. A more substantial pack. Just more in numbers.
The eerie howl died out over the trees, but the sleek black and white wolf didn’t dare relax her stance. Keisha’s ears were perked upright in the direction the sound had come from and when it once again rose over the tree tops, she couldn’t help but let out a long answering howl back. She wasn’t about to dare go out and find out who or what was making that sound. It was bad enough that she was out this far in the woods at this time of night. There was no telling who, or what, could be lurking in these shadows. Instead, she voiced a second howl for someone who understood it to come find her. As she stood as proudly and attentively as she could, her mind couldn’t help but wander. It flew back through the woods, the suburbs, and all the way back to her home, where Pete and Melanie were sleeping soundly without knowing where she was. If something bad were to happen… well, Keisha wasn’t going to let anything bad happen. With that thought adrenaline pulsed through her veins and she was more than ready for a fight. Suddenly she heard something drawing closer and she pinned her ears to the back of her head, and pulled her lips over gleaming white fangs. She let out a menacing growl and licked her lips, never once letting the pinpoint sharp fangs go unseen.

Alex’s ears perked as he heard a responding howl mix with his own. He was right. There was definitely another wolf close by, and based on the fact he had sensed it first, he was downwind so the howl was probably the only indicator the other had that he was close. He hadn’t a clue if this was another awakened or simply another wolf, but there was something eerily familiar about the scent he picked up. He shook his head and focused, cursing himself for letting his mind wander so freely. Doing so even for a second could have proved disastrous. His body tensed as he headed towards the source of the howl. For all he knew, he could be walking right into a trap.
As the aroma became stronger, Alex became more and more certain that he had caught this scent before. It was a distant memory, but certainly something to remember. For him, this was definitely a good thing. All that distance covered, all those battles for survival fought, and the constant strain on his mind oh insanity slowly taking its toll. It would be nice to find some familiarity. Something safe.
He inhaled deeply as he approached a clearing. He paused for a moment, trying to sense what he was coming upon. He couldn’t be certain, but he felt safe enough that it wasn’t a trap. It could possibly be a fight, but it definitely wasn’t a trap. He gave a small yip of warning that he was right behind the bushes before putting one paw in front of the other and emerging from the brush. He thought he was prepared for anything, but what he found in front of him was nothing he could ever be prepared for.
Those eyes. Those murky, piercing eyes. They had been the eyes of his dreams, and his seemingly endless nightmares. There was no mistaking who he was looking at, and her eyes and caused him to completely lock up. He couldn’t move. He could barely breath. He had a chance to blink but that was about it before he realized she had teeth barred, ready to attack.

hey, i just met you, [atrb=style, background-image: url(http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg154/kellyjjohnson255/Backgrounds/1212INVERTEDCOLORS-1.jpg); border: dashed #C000FF 4px; border-radius:50px 50px 25px 25px;][atrb=border,0,true] [atrb=style, border: dashed #c000ff 3px; width: 400px; height: 500px; float: left; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px; padding-bottom: 30px; padding-top: 30px;]
The rustling of the bushes as the other wolf approached made the fur on Keisha’s neck stand on end. The wolf needed a fight, that’s who was more present than Keisha was now. She was almost just a bystander, while the animal in her made all the moves, felt all the senses. Keisha realized that wolf wanted this. Some fight, some proof of dominance. With a sharp little twinge of fear, Keisha realized she wanted this too, just as much as the wolf inside her did. They were one in the same thing, and the animalistic instincts were slowly sinking into Keisha’s own being. She wondered if there was ever a way, if there was ever a way, to be separated from this curse. Part of her wanted to be back to normal, just to be a big sister again to Pete and Melanie, but another part of her wanted to stay part wolf. It made it that much easier to protect what was left of her family. It didn’t matter really anyway, she was fairly certain that there was no turning this around.
As the rustling of the bushes got louder and louder, she started to smell the other wolf. Male. Of course that would be her luck. Something bigger then she was. But the scent was oddly familiar. Keisha wasn’t necessarily sure how it was familiar, but it was. There was something about it that the wolf wanted to connect to her human memories, but it just didn’t, or just couldn’t make it there. That completely fascinated Keisha. How the wolf could sense something like that and connect it to her human memories and make it make sense. For whatever reason though, this scent and memory just didn’t want to connect. And that made her a little bit nervous. She didn’t know who she was dealing with, or if it was a wild animal in and of itself entirely.
It was then that Keisha heard a small yip from the other wolf. Nothing to be frightened of; just a warning to let her know that he was there. She saw the paw step from behind the bush followed by the rest of the wolf. She was right. He was two times bigger than her, if not three. She lowered her head and pulled her lips as far back as they could go to show her teeth. Her ears too were pinned back so tightly that they seemed to be lost in her fur. The wolf that emerged had strangely familiar eyes, and an emotion passed over them that was so strong that it made him physically freeze. Keisha didn’t know what that was all about, but she wasn’t going to stop now and find out. “What do you want?” she growled at the strange wolf. This wasn’t really time for chit-chat, but if this could be done without a fight then she would take that. If not, then she was going all out to get this stranger away from her. Then that would be enough practice for today and she would be heading home. That was her happy ending. Hopefully it did end that way, and if not… well she wasn’t going to be thinking about how badly this could end.

Alexander was frozen for a moment, his mind try to catch up with what his eyes and ears were registering in front of him. When things finally connected, he looked on at the other wolf for a moment, judging how to best answer. He bowed his head slightly, ever trying to point out he didn’t want to fight. “I was just making my way into town,” He said in a gruff tone.
This was true of course. His long journey across the earth had been to make his way home. There was more to it though. So much more. He knew now for certain it was her. It was the girl that had graced his dreams, and haunted his nightmares. There she was and all Alex had to do was tell her why he was back. Just make the simple statement know. But how could he do it? She was right in front of him and he knew he could finally find happiness, but at the same time this thought terrified him. What if she thought he was weird? What if knowing he had been searching for her would scare her off? He looked thoughtful for a moment, then decided it was a risk worth taking.
Alex stepped a bit closer, holding eye contact as he decided how best to approach the issue. His voice caught in his throat. Those eyes that he remembered were looking right at him. They were beautiful. He cleared his throat “I….came back looking for a girl. Her name is Keisha. Keisha Catori.”

The she-wolf stared hard at the intruder, almost seeming to look through him. His answer to her first question seemed legitimate. She realized he didn’t want to fight. Understood that very well actually, but her instincts, told her to stay on the defensive. Despite them though she flicked her ears forward slightly, and let her lips fall back over her teeth. She did keep her stance low though and the fur on the back of her neck continued to stand on end. She wanted to know where he had come from. Her mind suddenly supplied the fact that he was Awakened as well. Meaning the sickness had extended pretty much everywhere. She had honestly been hoping that they just happened to be in a dome and only they were thrown into this living hell. Of course though, Fate wouldn’t let the world be so favorable.
She continued to look at him though. He was handsome, even for a wolf. He was bigger than she was, and a stunning silver grey that seemed to shine in the moonlight. His eyes managed to pick up that same shimmer she noticed as their eyes actually met for the first time since he had appeared. She recognized them. Keisha knew those eyes from somewhere. Why couldn’t she just place where? But staring at him she was thankful she couldn’t blush, mainly because she knew she probably would be. Well if he’s this handsome as a wolf, he’s probably just as handsome human, she thought to herself. The minute she did though she wanted to bite her tongue. Right now wasn’t exactly the time to be crushing on some random guy she just met.
The next thing he said though stopped her entire thought process. To hear her name from this stranger sent a chill down her spine. Keisha was taken by surprise at what he had said, but she didn’t let it show for a second. Her eyes ears flicked back and stayed pinned to the back of her head and she let out a deep rumbling growl. A flood of questions entered her mind. Who was he? And how did he know her name? Instead she growled at him, “What business do you seek with her?” It was a perfectly legitimate question and truthfully she just really wanted to know. Nobody could blame her for being curious. Besides, curiosity killed the cat anyways, not the wolf. She continued to stare at the strange wolf. Suddenly, her curiosity got the better of her. “Who are you exactly?” she growled, and against her better judgment she added, “I am Keisha, by the way. And why have you been looking for me?” As she growled the question her lips pulled back over her gleaming white teeth. Now more than ever she was ready to rip someone apart. And if this wolf didn’t supply some good answers soon, he was definitely going to be the first one to go down. “Talk quickly, Wolf, and pick your words carefully,” she growled, waiting impatiently for her answers.

Alex looked at her with his ears perked, listening intently to her and keeping an eye on her body posture to defend himself just in case. He nodded as she began to ask question after question, and his eyes lit up when she confirmed his suspicions. There she was, the girl of his dreams standing right in front of her. He was so happy! He had to be cautious though. Alex knew enough to see that she was less than excited to see someone she didn’t know talking to her so comfortably. He cleared his throat a bit as he began to explain.
“The reason I’m looking for Keisha, er, you…is simply because I want to see you.” He smiled softly and continued on. “My name is Alexander Madison. You probably don’t remember me that well but we went to school together and, oh Keisha it’s just so good to see you again. I’ve travelled halfway across the globe to come back here just to find you. You see, well I always thought you were something special and I’ve always had strong feelings for you!” He bowed slightly in a polite manner “I just care a lot about you. So, when this,” he gestured to his wolf form and hers, “Happened I was worried about you and wanted to make sure you were safe and sound”
He took a breath and looked her over, not exactly sure how she’d take the news that someone she probably hardly remembered had come halfway ‘round the world just to see her. He cursed inwardly now that he thought about it. Probably came on a tad strong. He hoped she wouldn’t take it wrong and attack. Or worse, turn and leave. He just sat there, looking into her gorgeous eyes, hoping…praying…that things would turn out alright. “You look….you look incredible Keish. And I’m glad to see you’re alright.
Keish. That little nickname. He hoped she remembered it. That had been a personal little pleasure of his. A nickname no one else had given her. There time together had been short, but in his eyes it had meant so much. He wondered if that nickname might help. She’d never really been fond of it, but he knew for sure she’d at least recognize it.

hey, i just met you, [atrb=style, background-image: url(http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg154/kellyjjohnson255/Backgrounds/1212INVERTEDCOLORS-1.jpg); border: dashed #C000FF 4px; border-radius:50px 50px 25px 25px;][atrb=border,0,true] [atrb=style, border: dashed #c000ff 3px; width: 400px; height: 500px; float: left; padding-left: 25px; padding-right: 25px; padding-bottom: 30px; padding-top: 30px;]
Keisha watched the strange wolf carefully as he spoke. There was a certain sense familiarity. It was strange. She knew him. She knew she did. But she couldn’t figure out from where. Why did this stranger want to see her? She just didn’t understand. The more he spoke the more confused she got. Alexander…? She knew a lot of Alexander’s over the past couple of years. So which was he? Obviously she had meant a great deal to him. She would have to right? In order for him to be looking for her. And for so long, none-the-less, and from such a distance. Now where in the whole holy world of hell did she know him from?
When he launched into the whole feelings thing, Keisha took the slightest of steps back. She didn’t know exactly how to answer to that one. The last time anyone confessed their feelings for her; it lasted a while and then took a total turn for the worse. Since then anything like that hadn’t really been her thing. Anything that had to do with her feelings and someone else’s were generally a no go for her. Instead, Keisha tried to tune out his little bit about feelings and focus instead on who in the hell he actually was. She racked her brain, going all the way back to her first few years of school.
It was after the pause that everything clicked right. Keish. That nickname… only three people ever in the world called her that. They were the only ones that were allowed to. Anyone else would have had their heads taken off in a heartbeat. She could see the boy sitting across from her from way back in grade school. They had been so close. Best friends in fact. And there had been absolutely no separating them. When she left for her private high school though, they had lost touch. And she had heard from her since. “Oh my god… Alex?! That’s really you?” she barked delightedly. Keisha let the wolf take over for a moment, as she bent her front legs and waged her tail in the air furiously. She jumped up and to him throwing her head over his neck in a quick hug. She took a step back, icy eyes glittering happily, and plopped her butt on the ground. “Holy shit, it’s been too long. How’ve you been?” |
She realized she was avoiding the whole ‘feelings’ topic, but she would deal with that when she had more time to figure it out. [/div]

and this is crazy OOC: sorry its short and super crappy >_<
